The group are remaining tight-lipped about what kind of programming the club will feature, though recent Bottom Forty events featuring acts like Horse Meat Disco should give you a clue. The team behind the club is a mixture of Seattle nightlife figures, including Bottom Forty founder Kevin Kauer (AKA Nark), Tamarind Tree Restaurant Group's Tam Nguyen and promoter and designer Emi Vega. Sprawling out over three floors, Massive will feature a Danley Sound Labs system. and celebrate what makes for a vibrant queer underground scene in Seattle." The new venue will have a more open-ended approach and invite a wider audience, though the team behind Massive says they're "excited to revitalise this building and keep it queer-owned and operated as a nightclub. Massive will take over 619 E Pine Street in the city's Capitol Hill neighbourhood, the address of former gay bar R Place, which was open for more than three decades before closing during the pandemic. A new club is opening in Seattle this year.
